Sunday - Belfast - Downpatrick

We left our hotel at 9 AM heading south under bright blue skies. We spent an hour at the St Patrick Centre in Downpatrick. The centre itself was very interesting and very well presented through some got a bit dizzy from flying over the hills and glens in the helicopter. Following the information session several of us wandered up the hill to St Patrick’s Church were we appreciated the structure, the stained glass, and the general ambiance of this place of worship. and that it was as we were asked to leave before their 11:30 service began. We wandered through the cemetery, wondering about the many stories that were represented by the names on the stones, and admired the scenery - the Mountains of Mourne go down to the sea.
After lunch we headed south again towards Dublin. We had a brief time of worship, then Erica read the limericks that had been turned in. The winner was Harry Vogel with the following Limerick:
There was a coach driver named George
Who came to the Grand Canyon Gorge
He said “If I hump ‘er
I know I can jump her”
And that was the end of poor George.
There was also a good limerick about our Tour Guide:
There was a young lady from Kildare
Who danced with considerable flair
Her knowledge was vast
She shared it with class
How lucky for everyone there.

The total mileage we have traveled is 1479, and the winner is Ann Graham.
Once in our hotel we reorganized our bags and prepared for a great evening of entertainment and festivities.
For those of you following at home - we will soon be with you, but first we have to wake up very early tomorrow morning, so I will sign off from this adventure.
I hope you will join us for our next adventure - leaving October 27th for Egypt, Jordan and Isreal. Take Care
