to the airport. Once there, we settled down for our trip to Frankfurt. The group that had gathered in Frankfurt had a bit of concern as Irene and Maurine did not arrive at the same time as Laurie and Marilyn. We were very relieved when we learned that they were being cared for by special services who took them directly to the plan. We left Frankfurt about 45 minutes late, but had a very easy flight into Warsaw where we picked up all our bags (breathing a sigh of relief), then met our Polish Guide Grazyna, and Verna. From here we went directly to our hotel – had a few minutes to freshen up, get our luggage, and head out for dinner. At our hotel we successfully met with our remaining two guests Lila and Thelma.
For Dinner we went to a small ‘cellar’ restaurant in the old town called Sekret.
The walls are decorated with the work of renown mural painters who did a great job of depicting bouquets of flowers and this delightful wall of ‘books’.
At the restaurant we were treated to polish fare of wonderful Mushroom Soup, turkey, vegetables and baked apples for dessert. A few of us indulged in some wine or beer.
To get to the restaurant we had to be dropped off at the edge of the Old town
and walk a couple of blocks to the restaurant – a delightful walk filled with wonderful sights which we will get to revisit again tomorrow.
After dinner we went back a different way, but took time to watch the jugglers and listen to the musicians playing in the square.
Back to our rooms by just shortly after 9 PM and ready for a well deserved rest after a long flight and the stress of getting to our destination! Now we can hardly wait until Wednesday’s great adventures in Poland.
