This morning Barb got up and went for a run. Her route included about a km down Esplanade, then across the pedestrian bridge to 90 Mile Beach. The sight was so magnificent that she headed back to the hotel and got packed up, and with Harry – revisited the Beach.
On the way we saw this beautiful collection of white and black!
Unfortunately there were a few more people than when Barb went out there the first time, but it was still beautiful,
and the ocean was warm, and the colors were absolutely magnificent.

Then we were back in the car and headed for Melbourne, but we had to make this stop at Jemmie’s Point
to view the beautiful scenery and rich colours.
The trip was nice and cool in our car, but outside was 44 C, so our lunch was a quick ice cream stop, then back into the car. We did stop to get directions to our motel – thank goodness – it was a bit east of town, so we were really happy we knew how to find it.
But then – because it was early, we decided to head into Melbourne to ‘check out the place’. We got into the center of town within about 30 minutes, but that is when things got a bit crazy. By now it was close to 5 and we were in rush hour traffic, and couldn’t find our way out of the downtown core. We drove in the general direction, and eventually got onto the freeway (or rather – the Motorway) and made our way back to the motel. The bad part was that we were on a toll way, so we pulled out all our change and kept driving to the toll booth. Unfortunately, there was no toll booth, just cameras and a phone number. We learned at one of our stops for directions that if we didn’t pay in advance we would get a fine as well as paying the toll. So, when we got back to the motel, we called and got a wonderfully helpful woman helped up set up an account so that if we find ourselves on the toll way – it will be charged automatically to the credit card, she also backdated it to take care of today’s oopsey’s! Oh – it took us over an hour to get back to the motel.
This evening we made a few plans for tomorrow at Phillip Island, stay tuned. We do have fun adventures.
